From PRC Foundation, The firs surveying and mapping institute of Liaoning province has completed the 1:10000 topographic map of whole area of Liaoning province, and map of Liao River water resourceses used for manage to synthesize, and the large-scale series topographic map, cadastral maps, house map etc. of each city in Liaoning.It has completed SHENDA, JINGSHEN, SHENDAN, JINFU, JINCHAO, SIFU, DANHAI’s all series topographic map for expressway, DTM and seriers product; It still participated the ecnomic constucation of other provinces progressively, such as it has taken part in the digitized house surveying for Shijiazhuang and gained the Quality gold project in CSGPC. It participated Guiyang 1:2000 aerophotogrammetery surverying project and gained the Quality silver project in CSGPC. It participated projects of digitized Garden in Kunming, and Anhui province Feixi town’s cadastral inventory, Shaoxing city’s cadastral inventory, which won the expert’s high evaluation.

　　Now, it has a working staff of 290,among whom there are 192 professionals,13 senior engineers、42 intermediate engineers and 135 elementary engineers .With 11 outdoor working teams, it has a modern digital center, and a geography information center indoor. The major engineer office consists of technology quality department and science development department.

　　Property of the whole institute is now more than 20,000,000 RMB totally. Outer equipments include 11 sets of dynamic RTK-GPS (more than 30), more than 20 sets of static reciever, more than 70 sets of total station instrument, and certain number of automatic Anne water level, electric water level, etc. Inner equipments include more than 50 sets of Virtuozo, JX4 Ases, DMS digital photograph and measure workstation, more than 100 sets of PC. We transfer data with 100/1000 M switch servers, backup data with disk array, tapes and etc. and we have sketch workstation, engineering scanner, image scanner, ink-jet painting instrument, etc. Also we have variety of remote sensing and GIS software platforms, such as the Cass, Nasew, Epscan, Mapstar, MapGIS, FangZheng intelligent drawing, Geoway, ARCGIS, ERDAS, Photomapper etc.

　　Our institute values new technique application and research. Over several years, we developed the data processing system of the GPS base line net system, adjastmet system for raverse network, control survey achievement management system, circuit sample data management and checking system, image edit system based on CAD, editor software based on mapinfo, etc., and we also developed the GIS management system of several realms for many cities, to complete Digitized Garden item in Kunming with ARCGIS, ERDAS, Supermap etc. Since these 6 years, there are 25 kinds of results or projects which achieved science and technology progress prize and excellent engineering prize of the nation surveys and mapping bureau, Liaoning province government and the national territory resources bureau.

　　Our institute develops the domestic and international cooperation actively. We are the cooperation unit of the Institute of Remote sensing Applications CAS. We created a great deal of image diagram, 3D sand defend diagram, city GIS diagram etc. since 2001 when we began cooperating with Japan and USA.
